	Casa Grande Water Foundation Tour In mid-February, the Water Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Sacramento, CA, led a three-day tour exploring water and water-use challenges facing southern Arizona in the 21st century. 	AEG Student Field trip – Impacts and Deposits of 2006 Debris-Flows in Sabino Canyon, Santa Catalina Mountains, Arizona It was a brisk Sunday morning at the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area Visitor Center when Ann Youberg addressed the University of Arizona's student chapter of the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG) on the nature of debris flows in the Santa Catalina Mountains. 	GeoDaze Field trip with the University of Arizona AZGS’s Charles Ferguson joined forces with the University of Arizona Geosciences Dept. to lead this year’s GeoDaze field trip on April 2nd. Charles led UA students, faculty and guests to Mount Wrightson in the Santa Rita Mountains to examine volcanic deposits and discuss the structural geology of the Santa Ritas. Read More
	Winner of the John C. Frye Memorial Award Congratulations to Joseph P. Cook, Ann Youberg, and Philip A. Pearthree, Jill A. Onken, Bryan J. MacFarlane, David E. Haddad, Erica R. Bigio, and Andrew L. 	Arizona Geological Survey Continues to Grow Over the past several years, we have successfully petitioned the National Science Foundation, US Geological Survey, and the US Department of Energy for funds to supplement our state budget. With those funds in hand, we are building the US Geoscience Information Network (GIN), collaborating with the Association of American Survey Geologists on the State Geothermal project, and mapping quadrangles north of Yuma, south of Tucson, and east of Prescott.
